Munsie's Mail - Round 23

TAB Sportsbet customers just seem to love Wednesday's, the day that NRL markets are opened.

In under 3 hours of business on Wednesday afternoon, just over $200,000 had been invested on Round 23 of the NRL.

Most popular side has been the in form Newcastle in their match against Canberra on Sunday with bets of $20,000 @ $2.50 to win the match along with a string of wagers at the +5.5 point line including one of $50,000 @ $1.90.

Warriors are very popular at home on Saturday against Cronulla with bets to win the match of $28,000 and $13,000 @ $1.70 as well as $15,000 and $11,000 @ $1.90 in the -2.5 point line market.

Sydney Roosters have been backed to bounce back after last week's loss to Parramatta and they receive a healthy +14.5 point line from Melbourne on Friday night. Bets of $15000, $11000 and $10000 @ $1.90 came before $10000 and $5000 @ $1.85.

The only match to have some early betting is the Nth Qld v Gold Coast affair with one bet of $11,000 @ $1.90 on the Cowboys -7.5 but I'm sure punters are waiting to see whether Jonathan Thurston and Scott Prince will both, either or neither will play.
